Classification Title OPS Time-Limited Job Description The Coach will work to ensure that teachers participating in EQuIPD have the knowledge and skills to implement accessible STEM inquiry lessons for students. This position will represent the project under the direction of the Primary Investigator (University) and the District Liaison. The successful candidate will be based in Sarasota, Florida. Coach Services will involve travel to outlying school districts and weekend work.
Specific Duties Include • Working directly with: • District leadership and IT staff to ascertain technology needs • School leadership to support alignment of the EQuIPD model to district teacher assessment models • Local workforce boards to encourage school/business partnerships and to facilitate interactions between participating teachers and STEM businesses • Offering support for EQuIPD participation including: • Implementation of sample lesson modules • Assessment of student work products • Assessment of the effectiveness of system-thinking-focused lessons • Technology Training • Standards based lesson development/alignment for Inquiry, problem-based learning, Engineering Design • Attending and assisting in: • scheduling professional development sessions for non-participating teachers in Year 3 • Implementing week-long summer institutes for participants (4 per year) • Training from vendor partners on the grant as needed • Implementing follow-up day-long sessions for participants (4 per year) • Implementing STEM business field trips for participants (4-6 per year) • EQuIPD District Liaison meetings via Zoom once per month • Coaching professional development sessions offered by University personnel or outside facilitators as directed by the Primary Investigator • Assisting in EQuIPD: • Data collection and analyses to measure and evaluate project initiatives • Serving as liaison between EQuIPD management team and participating teachers • Assisting the Project Manager with project coordination and logistics • Fulfilling other duties related to the success of the project, as assigned • Maintaining accurate records of coaching interactions, to include a coaching log kept electronically • Posting resources on the MicroSoft TEAMS site • Traveling to and from partner schools • Submitting a travel log to the University monthly for reimbursements Advertised Salary $18.00 - $21.00 hourly; commensurate with education and experience. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization, valid driver's license with a good driving record, teacher certification in science or math or STEM-related CTE (elementary or middle grades). Preferred Qualifications • Three years of successful K-9 classroom teaching experience in a STEM area • Three years of successful implementation of instructional technology • Evidence of ability and willingness to work collaboratively and with a commitment to • Collegiality • Microsoft Office skills Special Instructions To Applicants In order to be considered, you must upload your cover letter and resume.
