Salary Grade: IT11 Recruitment Range: $101,622.00 - $121,835.00 ~This vacancy is open to current NC DIT employees only or previous NC DIT employees with unexpired RIF priority reemployment rights.~ The Department of Information Technology (DIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Services that DIT provides reach a client base of state and local government agencies, as well as schools, colleges and universities.
 This position is in the Public Safety Division which is responsible for management and support of applications that are used by the Adult Corrections (AC) Division of the NC Department of Public Safety (DPS). This position provides direct supervision over a designated team of computer application developers who are engaged in the full range of application design, maintenance, and programming for multiple enterprise-wide systems. This includes: • Organizing, coordinating, and directing the activities of this team • Providing leadership in planning development, implementation, and maintenance of software projects • Working with management to establish and execute priorities • Working with other development teams to coordinate efforts to ensure consistently high-quality results • Promoting staff developmentTo receive credit for your work experience and credentials, you must document on your application that you possess all of the following: Demonstrated experience: • as a project manager or team lead for a large enterprise level application development project • working with Java-based frameworks • with requirement gathering, developing technical specifications and client managementDemonstrated multi-tasking and prioritization skills to manage multiple competing projects simultaneously and establish priorities and coordinate dependencies and resources The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred: • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or functional equivalent • Direct supervisory experience including performance reviews and time management • Knowledge/Experience with Adult Corrections policies, practices and proceduresBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, Engineering or other related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years progressive experience including at least two years of experience in programming and applications analysis or related work; or Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and six years progressive experience in the field of information technology including at least two years of experience in programming and applications analysis or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
