Professor with Tenure. We seek candidates with expertise in illustration who would teach and pursue research in narrative and figurative representation. The ideal candidate would: work within the disciplines of drawing and/or painting, and with knowledge of digital media design environments; be able to translate the traditional practice of figurative drawing into contemporary figure studies, and potentially into digital environments such as texture development and character design for 2D and 3D platforms. The teaching emphasis is to develop student conceptual skills across all levels but with a focus on visual thinking, composition, alternative processes, and series development. The faculty member’s design research should contribute to the field of contemporary image production for both commercial and fine art applications. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high level of creative accomplishment, excellent teaching, and school, college, university, and professional service commensurate with the rank of Associate Professor.
