POSITION PROFILE: The Senior Cost Accounting Analyst will report directly to the West Michigan Assistant Controller. The successful candidate must possess well-rounded accounting/finance knowledge and experience, along with strong inter-personal skills. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collecting, recording, preparing, and analyzing data financial statements and financial forecasts. The successful candidate will be adept at analyzing information, recognizing the implications for the manufacturing operation and/or business processes and recommending actions to address areas of opportunity. This individual will also be involved in various accounting and reporting projects as required. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Audit system data to verify its accuracy as relating to cost of inventory, and maintain the entire costing module • Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, both balance sheet and P&L, with analysis and resolution of reconciling items. • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries • Maintain S.O.X compliance • Maintain and provide supporting documentation for work performed to internal and external audit teams as required. • Provide analytical support for year-end audits and quarterly reviews, as well as the preparation of audit workpaper support. • Prepare and review internal reporting packages on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. • Assist with analysis and distribution of financial statements and reporting on variances, including recommendation of potential actions to address areas of opportunity. • Prepare various budget and forecast reports, including operating expense analyses and product line forecasts. • Prepare estimates of new or proposed product costs • Participate in the establishment of new standards for raw material and calculation of new labor and overhead rates. • Responsible for the accounting and analysis of inventory, to include monthly reporting on physical inventory and obsolete parts. • Responsible for defining and maintaining cycle count programs with manufacturing sites. • Support all standard cost functions, including year-end cost roll, and Bill of Material maintenance. • Demonstrate initiative and sound judgement in performance of duties. • Participate in various Cost Improvement Projects both in Finance and Operations. • Support the other Manufacturing sites as necessary. • Assist in various process standardization projects. • Performs other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned. Required Skills • Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting. • High level of interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Detail oriented individual with a proven ability to prioritize and multi-task. • Ability to work cross functionally in order to achieve desired results. • Self-motivated and able to work productively as part of a team, or individually, as circumstances require. • Maintain a high level of confidentiality. • Must have a moderate to high level of competency in Microsoft Excel. • Knowledge of JDE and Oracle is a plus. • Ideal candidate will have a desire, willingness and ability to grow beyond the advertised role, and at the appropriate time move to another role within finance or the broader Knoll organization. Required Experience Desired Education: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA, CMA, and/or MBA is a plus. • Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience in an organization of similar scale and complexity SDL2017
