This announcement provides the opportunity for a reassignment/promotion to the position of IT Analyst or IT Specialist position in the Office of Audit Information Technology directorate located in Arlington, Virginia. Selections will be made from either vacancy announcement The employee provides senior level advice in the area of information technology. Participates in and makes contributions to management decisions in assigned program areas. Applies a wide range of information technology concepts, laws, policies, practices, analytical, and diagnostic methods and techniques to address substantive technical issues or problems characterized by complex, controversial, and/or sensitive matters that contain several inter-related issues. • Analyzes Office of Audit requirements. • Develops specifications for new or modified systems. • Plans and coordinates the design, development, testing, installation, and support of new and modified systems, including hardware and software. • Serves as liaison with Office of Audit organizations on all IT related matters. • Perform assignments requiring the application of fundamental principles, concepts, techniques, and guidelines in the area of auditing or audit evaluation • Participates as a team member and lead of an audit team • Evaluates agency programs and operations for compliance and adherence to regulations and adequacy of internal controls over operation • Makes recommendations for corrective actions and writes audit working papers and reports utilizing generally accepted accounting principles and Government Auditing Standards Travel Required 50% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position. Specialist (GS-14) level must have 10+ years of hands-on experience AND • Must have Enterprise IT, Security, or Network operations experience OR knowledge of program coding languages such as Python, Powershell, YAML, SQL, etc. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS • Experience performing blue team (vulnerability testing) or red team (penetration testing). • Previous knowledge or experience working with the US Postal Service. • Experience with performing code security reviews. • SCADA or ICS experience • A technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, SSCP, Cloud (AWS, Google, etc), MCSE, Security +, Network +, CISA, CISSP, ITIL, ScrumMaster Education Additional information The USPS OIG uses a Pay Banding system, which is equivalent to the Federal GS scale. Grade and salary determinations will be made based upon a candidate's education and professional experience. This position is being advertised at the Journey Band level, equivalent to a GS-12/13, and Specialist band, equivalent to a GS-14. The salary figures does not include locality pay. If selected at the GS-12 level, career ladder to GS-13 equivalent is at management's discretion.
