Position Description Advertised Job Summary The School of Visual Art & Design at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor to teach four courses per semester in Media Arts. We seek an energetic and accomplished teacher to focus on foundational courses in media production. The ideal candidate will have appropriate field experience in media production and would be able to teach such undergraduate courses as: MART 110 Media Culture (intro-duction to the critical study of film, video, photography, audio, and new media), MART 201 Foundations of Media Art Production (media arts field techniques, such as image capture, lighting, cinematic grammar), MART 210 Digital Media Art Fundamentals, MART 262 Digital Imaging, MART 321 Media Writing, MART 341 Sound Design, MART 371 The Moving Image (narrative, non-fiction, and experimental motion picture production), and possibly ARTS (Art Studio) 102, Introduction to Visual Arts Computing. Qualifications Selected candidate must have a MFA or PhD, in an appropriate field, in hand at the time of appointment.
