The program will increase awareness of our unique collections and innovative services that facilitate our vital role in the teaching and research mission of the University and draw researchers from around the world. This position oversees media relations, outreach initiatives, and the production of all library publications and marketing materials. Minimum Qualifications (Classified And Unclassified Positions) Master's degree and 2 years professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor's degree and 4 years related experience. Preferred Qualifications A Master's Degree and 2 years' experience in communications or public relations in an academic research library, cultural heritage institution or higher education setting; and five years' experience utilizing a comprehensive communications plan to include the effective implementation and use of social media, the creation of public relations campaigns, and the development of close media ties. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of journalistic principles and practices and techniques of disseminating information to the public through news media. Knowledge of principles and methods of planning, conducting and supervising large-scale public relations programs. Ability to gather, organize and present oral and written information in a clear, concise and accurate manner. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments, procedures, and processes. Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies. Ability to assign appropriate priorities to work activities abased on organizational goals and situational pressures. Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion to meet schedules and deadlines. Ability to conceptualize needed change and to initiate appropriate activities to move from concept to implementation.
