$11.00-$14.00 DOE Overview This ACA variable intern will help to oversee the success of the summer camp programs at the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter in Park City, Utah. This individual will act as a camp leader throughout the summer, overseeing both campers as well as camp counselors. This position gives ample opportunity for experience in informal education, with focuses on environmental, inquiry, and experiential education. Responsibilities Assist in developing, planning, and facilitating 4-H summer camp programs at Swaner (approximately 30 individual camps) Act as head camp counselor for at least one camp per week throughout the summer (includes classroom management, daily check in and out procedures, delivery of curriculum, etc) Assist in overseeing and directing high school camp counselors during camp programs Help collect and report information on success of camps and activities, including helping to administer surveys to parents, as well as making notes about curriculum for additions, changes, etc Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Desire to work with youth in an educational setting Excellent verbal and written communication skills Relevant coursework in environmental sciences, teaching education, conservation, STEM subjects Strong sense of work ethic CPR and First Aid certified (or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of start date) Preferred Qualifications: Currently pursuing 2 or 4 year degree or Bachelors degree in relevant field Experience working with youth in an informal setting, such as camp Ability to communicate in Spanish (verbal and written) Required Documents Along with the online application, please attach: 1.Resume to be uploaded in the profile 2.Cover letter Please do not attach cover letter, you will be intructed to copy and paste your cover letter in the application. **Document size may not exceed 10 MB.** University Highlights Utah State University (USU) was founded in 1888 and is honored to be Utah's land-grant and space-grant university.
