The Processing Assistant position will serve as the first customer contact for those who make contact with the agency by phone or in-person. The candidate will be located in the front office and will communicate effectively with consumers, employers, community partners, and the general public, including but not limited to vocational rehabilitation clients with mental, emotional and/or physical disabilities. Job responsibilities include the following: • Greeting consumers and other visitors • Answering multi line phone/in person inquiries and relaying messages to the appropriate staff member • Gathering demographic and basic disability needs information from new referrals • Receive paperwork from, or distributing paperwork to, consumers upon staff request • Maintaining scheduling calendars for psychological evaluations and conference room reservations • Receiving and distributing deliveries and registered mailSalary Grade: GN06 Recruitment Range: $31,200 $45,420 Position 60054849 The DHHS Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) promotes employment and independence for persons with disabilities through customer partnership and community leadership. Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following: Please refer to the link below for additional information https://oshr.nc.gov/work-for-nc/how-do-i-get-job • Demonstrated work experience performing general office tasks to include: receptionist duties, greeting clients and visitors, answering multi-line phones, handling in person inquiries, relaying messages to the appropriate staff members and processing mail • Proven ability providing administrative support to office personnel, preparing correspondence and other documentation and handling file maintenance • Proficient computer skills with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel • Must possess excellent customer service and be flexible, detailed-oriented and organized with multiple priority assignments • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with the general public, consumers and professionals (internal and external), using courtesy and tact in performing public contact and communication duties that may be sensitive and confidential in natureHigh School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; OR Equivalent combination of education and experience.
