The salary range given above includes base pay and locality pay, you will receive a 3.74% cost of living allowance for Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau, or 5.30% for all other Alaska locations. This allowance is subject to annual review, adjustment and grade decrease. As an Administrative Support Assistant you will: Serve as Travel Arranger for Refuge system employees on official duty travel in a Business Team in an assigned Region 7 geographic area. Review travel itineraries, authorizations, vouchers, and arranging travel. Advises and provides guidance to assigned staff on travel regulations and proper procedures for submission of travel authorizations and travel vouchers. Composes correspondence relating to all phases of travel administration. Assists with general administrative duties or other office tasks as needed at duty-stationed Refuge. You may qualify at the GS - 07 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service which involved: independently supporting an office or organization by performing progressively higher administrative duties such as preparing and reviewing correspondence; tracking correspondence through a software system, making travel arrangements and processing vouchers; arranging for conferences, meetings, and training sessions; ensuring that all requests for personnel action or information are acted upon and due dates are met; maintain supervisor calendar ( without prior consultation) assisting with budget and position paper activities; maintaining office filing systems, responding to telephone inquiries and correspondence, preparing purchase orders and requisitions, and developing and utilizing software to log information and maintain a database, including mail merges. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Promotion Potential: This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed represent the full performance level of GS-6/7. At lower grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-6/7. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.The selectee may be promoted without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
