 The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Human Resource Consultant Assistant 2 at Clallam Bay Corrections Center. Clallam Bay Corrections Center is a 900 bed male facility located on the point of the Olympic Peninsula. It is 50 miles west of Port Angeles and looks out over the Strait of Juan de Fuca at Vancouver Island. This facility houses medium and close custody offenders. CBCC also operates an Intensive Management Unit. Whether the work is inside a prison, in community corrections, or in an administrative office, the Washington State Department of Corrections professional staff experience a high degree of personal satisfaction knowing they are creating environments in which all offenders can learn to make choices that contribute to a safer society. • Input and monitor personnel actions to include but not limited to new hires appointments (promotions, transfers, etc.), pay adjustments, and date adjustments to ensure conformance with Civil Service Rules, personnel policies, and procedures. • Ensure the contents of employee records are legal, accurate, and maintained in a secure setting. • Maintain confidentiality of information that is protected by agency policy or federal or state laws. • Use multiple computer programs to manage the Bid System, maintain the Staff Roster and distribute, create and distribute various reports, and other daily tasks. • Maintain and distribute the Family Medical Leave (FML) list as necessary. • Assist the Human Resource Consultant 3 in providing guidance to managers in the processing of personnel actions. • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the Correctional Officer Hiring Event Day, manage all aspects of the recruitment and selection process, and coordinate job fairs and recruitment activities. • Prepare various letters for signature, review and distribution. • Provide training and orientation within area of responsibility.Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum two years office experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Preferred: Associate degree or certification in administration, business, human resources, or related field and senior level office support or administrative experience. OR Comparable education and/or specific technical knowledge or experience may be required based on position assignments. The most competitive candidates will have experience working in an HR environment, familiarity with Washington State's HRMS, SharePoint, and NEOGOV.'The mission of DOC is to improve public safety.'
