Training Program Analyst (Management Analyst 2)
Training and Development Unit SW Region Performance Center Lacey, WA The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for a permanent position of Management Analyst 2 (MA2) with the Training and Development Unit (TDU) at the SW Region Performance Center in Lacey, WA. As a Management Analyst 2, you will work with the TDU management team to research and analyze training data and make recommendations for creating improvements and/or efficiencies in the processes and procedures used to administer agency training programs. You will assist with the implementation and ongoing evaluation of TDU operations. Using multiple data sources, you will analyze TDU efficacy in programs, strategic initiatives, work projects, and long-range planning activities. You will provide expert advice to management, assist with resolution of complex operational and management problems, and function as a specialist and/or lead for projects impacting multiple programs, divisions, and/or business units. You will assist the Information Manager with the collection, analysis, and reporting of unit, division, and agency-wide performance measures.Tasks Include: • Conduct complex, multi-dimensional research and analysis and formulate recommendations. • Establish data collection methods and protocol for TDU programs and initiatives. • Independently research and analyze data through various means such as classroom observations, survey instruments, literature reviews, student assessments and/or the agency's database(s). • Identify Improvement options through analysis of collected data, business requirements, functional and end-user needs, and quality requirements. • Build, extract, and analyze information from spreadsheets and databases using statistical analysis tools such as Statistical Analysis System (SAS) and Microsoft Excel. • Provide formatted and/or visualized data and consultation to managers and operational leaders.Required Qualifications: • One (1) year of successful experience conducting research and analysis of business data. • Demonstrated ability to independently research, analyze, and make recommendations. • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, to include strong interpersonal skills focusing on problem solving/dispute resolution, report writing, and project status communication/display strategies. • Advanced level skills in MS Excel and MS Word. • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, law, public health, health administration, or a related field.Preferred/Desired Qualifications: • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience conducting research and analysis of policies, laws, rules, or regulations. • Advanced level skills in Tableau data visualization software.
