HIRING SALARY: $31,868.00 - $34,901.84 annually; all salary calculations to start at the minimum salary HOURS: 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Monday ‑ Friday CONTACT: Human Resources (850) 201-8510 or via email at hr@tcc.fl.edu MAJOR FUNCTION: The Student Conduct Coordinator is housed within the Office of Student Conduct and will report to the Assistant Director of Student Services/Chief Judicial Officer. The Student Conduct Coordinator is responsible for the facilitation and resolution of disclosure forms and resolving reports and allegations of violations, management of conduct referrals, adjudication of alleged violations, conduct cases, including conducting administrative meetings, facilitating hearings, imposing and evaluating sanctions. The Coordinator also conducts educational and outreach efforts to the college community, designing educational workshops. This position also serves in case management, including maintenance of conduct records and database, assessment and evaluation of the Office of Student Conduct, compiling various internal and external reports, hearing board selection and training, hearing board supervision, long-term strategic planning for the office, student-faculty conflicts, interpretation of College policies and other duties as assigned. Primary duties will include, but are not limited to: Receives initial police and incident reports of students who have allegedly committed violations of the student code of conduct; conducts pre-hearing/information sessions with students charged with alleged violations of the Code; sends letters to students charged with alleged violations of the Code; conducts pre-hearing/information sessions with students charged with alleged violations of the Code; confers with campus police, faculty and staff, including Student Accessibility Services, and FAMU and FSU officials regarding campus discipline cases; confers with students and their relative support system in helping them understand the student discipline process; and maintains the confidential database of student records. Performs daily clearances for students with past discipline and /or criminal histories; maintains follow up contact via case management of students cleared for admission through the disclosure process; assists FBI investigators and other law enforcement and military entities in conducting discipline record checks of current and/or former TCC students; participant on the College’s Behavioral Intervention Team. Educates the campus community about College policies, student rights and responsibilities, and the referral process for different kinds of cases to various reporting parties (police, academic integrity, student conduct, students of concern, etc.), using a variety of methods (I.e. educational workshops; trainings; promotion via College website; attendance at departmental meetings). Confers with faculty/staff regarding concerns they have about student misconduct; conducts mediation sessions between students and between faculty and students as needed; and assists in the selection and training of faculty and students for the College’s conduct hearing board. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: A bachelor’s degree in criminology, psychology, counseling, or a related field and three (3) years of related work experience. A Master’s degree in criminology, psychology, or counseling is preferred and may substitute for one year of the required experience. Ability to handle students in crisis situations. Ability to speak professionally and effectively with victims, students, parents, lawyers, investigators, police officers, faculty and staff. Ability to effectively and professionally handle students and parents who are angry/volatile. Ability to multitask in a crisis.
