Learn more about this agencyResponsibilities As an* SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-9,* you will plans, organize, and direct the activities of a Security Forces Flight, ensuring that the flight complies with legal and regulatory requirements. Direct and manage a Security Forces Flight for the installation with military, military dependents, DoD civilians, contractor's and protection level resources. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents the organization with a variety of state and functional area organizations. Perform and enforce the full range of police officer duties within the military installation. Pursue and apprehend or direct apprehension of person(s) fleeing a crime scene or attempting to resist arrest; carries a firearm. The Security Forces Operations Officer and Superintendent set overall flight objectives and determine the level of resources available to flights. The Superintendent makes assignments defining Flight Chiefs' scope of responsibilities, the objectives, priorities and deadlines; and assists the employee in unusual situations which do not have clear precedents. Category 2: Qualified, currently employed Title 32 Federal Technicians of the Pennsylvania National Guard. (Army and/or Air) Category 3: Qualified, currently employed Federal Employees (T5) or Federal Technicians (T32) within the Pennsylvania National Guard (Army and/or Air). Category 4: Qualified current members of the Pennsylvania National Guard. (Army and/or Air) INDEFINITE:Currently employed permanent technicians MAY BE able to retain their permanent status and based on the current Unit Manning Document (UMD) and projected resourcing this will allow the applicant to occupy this position as a Permanent Promotion or Reassignment. If there are projected changes in the funding resourcing of the advertised position individuals will be placed on a Temporary action such as Temporary Promotion or Temporary Reassignment. These actions may result in the employee having to return to their prior Permanent Position when changes to the manning occur. Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician.
