Internship - TheORANGE BOWL COMMITTEE Inc., (OBC ), based in Miami Lakes, was created in 1935 with the mission of generating tourism for South Florida through an annual football game and supporting events. The OBC is seeking highly motivated candidates for its2019-20 Marketing & Promotions Internship Program.The Orange Bowl Internship Program is available year-round. LEARNING EXPERIENCE - Intern will learn and be exposed to: - Inner workings of major non-profit sports and event organization Marketing and promotional efforts such as: Advertising, Marketing Communications, Promotions, In-Game Entertainment, Event Management, street team and game day activations. Detailed and hands-on operations of a Marketing Department Exposure to the development of marketing strategies to increase overall brand awareness of OBC and its events Learn coordinating OBC’s marketing research projects and creation of event scripts Participate with the creation and execution of in-game promotions and entertainment Exposure to the coordination of talent and on-stage promotions for the Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Zone Be trained in the development and execution of community promotions and initiatives such as the Creative Art Contest (Grades K-12), etc. Participate in the coordination of OBC promotions team (Patch Patrol) Learn about Patch Patrol Promotions throughout South Florida: Patch Patrol staffing according to promotional schedule Scheduling, logistics and implementation during promotions Exposed to logistics associated with researching, ordering and managing inventory of promotional giveaway items Learn to coordinate mascot appearances Participation in the coordination of OBC’s promotions such as: Orange Bowl Festival Events Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest Capital One Orange Bowl Halftime Show MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic Orange Bowl Kick-Off Party Orange Bowl Coaches Luncheon Orange Bowl Youth Football Clinic Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance Orange Bowl Youth Football Championships Orange Bowl Cheer & Dance Championships Orange Bowl Creative Art Contest Orange Bowl Field of Dreams / The OBIES Orange Bowl Orange Drive Orange Bowl Downtown Countdown Orange Bowl Paddle Championships Orange Bowl Lacrosse Classic Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta Orange Bowl Track & Field Invitational Orange Bowl Swim Classic Orange Bowl Prayer Breakfast Orange Bowl Legacy Project Orange Bowl Community Appearances Learn about the creation of recap books of all media, collateral and licensing items Other opportunities as may be available. PREREQUISITES Pursuing a degree and/or career in Sports Marketing Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator and typing skills Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds Note: Preferred commitment of a minimum of 20 hours a week consistent with academic demands/schedule.
