Description of Work This is a re-post; previous applicants are being considered and do not need to re-apply. This position is located at Southern Correctional Institution in Troy, North Carolina. This position is considered journeyman level and should excel in the trade. Will be expected to handle any problem that occurs within a large commercial facility in the plumbing field. The ability to understand the entire plumbing and mechanical plumbing systems throughout the facility is required. Plumbing will constitute 70% of this position's time and will include the installation of complete plumbing systems in renovations and/or new construction. This position will install, repair and replace fixtures, pipes, drain lines, copper water lines, valves, faucets, etc. The remainder of this position's time will include installation of door locking devices, hinges, cabinets, shelves, and performing other duties as assigned by the Facility Maintenance Supervisor. Work will be performed in a close custody male facility and a minimum custody male facility. Attention to security of tools, locked doors and work areas is required in order to prevent escapes and injuries.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the repair, replacement or construction of piping systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
