The Chesterfield County Health District is seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse to join a team of clinical professionals who are committed to providing the best care and service to the residents of our district. This position promotes the standards of Public Health Nursing practice through demonstration as a role model and interaction with peers, administrators and the community served.
Serves as clinical coordinator for prenatal services for the Chesterfield Health District. Serves as resource and nursing program expert for the prenatal program for the District. Schedules clinics according to community need, customer demand, available space and clinician coverage. Provides direct patient care; nursing assessments, lab testing, developing and implementing care plans, administration of meds and case management. Supervises support staff. Minimum Qualifications Must be RN licensed or eligible in Virginia. Current professional CPR certification is required. Must possess a working knowledge of principles and practices of public health nursing and of federal and state laws, regulations and policies related to public health nursing programs. Must have skills in leadership; nursing assessment and procedures; effective verbal and written communications; skills in developing goals, objectives and standards of nursing programs and Microsoft Office computer applications. Must have the ability to work with a culturally diverse population. Preferred Qualifications Prefer BSN and/or equivalent training/experience. Public Health Experience Strongly Preferred. Prefer leadership/supervisory experience. Performing and entering nursing home screening assessments. Bilingual skills: interpretation, orally and written (English and Spanish) preferred.
