Description of Work Salary Grade: GN11 Recruitment Rangeclick apply This position is assigned to Pasquotank Correctional Institution, Elizabeth City, NC/Pasquotank County. Disseminates and interpret rules, regulations and orders from prison management. Conducts frequent inspections of housing units and other buildings, grounds, and posts to ascertain that officers are alert, that discipline is maintained, and that assignments are being carried out effectively and supervise Correctional Lieutenant III's . Implements disciplinary measures with inmates and employees on infractions of rules; investigates complaints of inmates and makes reports of such actions to higher level officials. Works to prevent or resolve disorders such as: assaults, riots, fires, and escapes. Prepares reports on inmates pertaining to their behavior, attitudes, and work records for use on the inmate classification committee. Organizes and conducts training programs for employees. Perform other duties
as required Employees may serve as the Officer-in-Charge. Candidates must meet the requirements for criminal justice certification, including U.S. Citizenship. Therefore, you must demonstrate or provide supporting information within the body of your application to demonstrate your possession of each KSA listed. • Documented supervisory skills in a prison facility • Knowledge of facility operations • Knowledge of Prisons' policy and procedures • Documented report writing skills Minimum Education And Experience Requirements High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience as a Correctional Lieutenant, or 2 years of experience as a Correctional Lieutenant III; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
