Description of Work Salary Grade: GN07 Salary Range: $32,703 $49,054 The primary purpose of this position is to provide case management services to an assigned case load at Polk Correctional Institution located in Butner, Granville County, North Carolina, a Close Custody Prison. Case Managers perform regular periodic classification reviews, needs assessments, plans, job assignments, program referrals and regular scheduled one-on-one contact for the purposes of correctional and/or motivational counseling. They provide transitional information; assist with housing and recommendations for the classification upon inmate review; assist with onsite activities. They need to effectively communicate with other staff, inmates and the general public; work under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders, who can become physically violent and verbally abusive; capable of defending oneself against attack; perform crisis interventions to include suicide prevention They will prepare written reports which accurately reflect data reviewed by various sources; review, analyze, and evaluate various documents and behavior data gathered from interviews, written documentation and personal observation.
