The successful candidate will join the specialist Trade Compliance legal team which is composed of virtual team members, and will provide import/export Trade Compliance advice to Shell's Projects & Technologies business. This includes providing assistance to the Projects & Technology business in assessing risk exposure based on sufficient knowledge of applicable Trade Compliance regulations and Shell procedures. From an internal/external reporting perspective, the successful candidate is expected gather information on Trade Compliance activities and be able to promote awareness to associated risks and required processes throughout the organization. The role will also provide an opportunity of working closely with the Trade Compliance Officer, Trade Compliance lawyers and the Projects & Technology staff to resolve and avoid Trade Compliance issues (e.g. application of sanctions, imports, exports, anti-boycott issues). You will also need to work closely with Group Customs Subject Matter Experts and indirect tax staff on import and customs issues as well as with the Projects & Technology Focal Points to address escalations of counter-party screening matches. The role will have a dotted line relationship with Trade Compliance focal points in the Projects & Technologies focal points and will require the successful candidate to have and maintain adequate levels of Trade Compliance knowledge, experience and expertise.
