Preferred Qualifications Experience in negotiation and sales Data management experience strongly preferred Position Summary Actively develop and thereafter maintain relationships with individuals in assigned markets, through identification, prospecting, phone calls, visits and other types of contacts, thereby identifying new business opportunities for the Georgia Center. Coordinate and conduct site inspections and meet with potential and returning clients. Greet clients while on-site (Event Coordinators serve as their on-site contact). Communicate post-event with the client to ascertain future needs. Create and maintain accurate client records, utilizing the Georgia Center’s CRM. Research facility availability, including analysis of profitability on business opportunities, prepare proposals, and negotiate the terms of Agreements between customers and the Georgia Center. Written documents, including proposals, on-line responses, and Agreements, shall be in compliance with University and departmental guidelines. Effectively communicate with other departments allowing them to successfully fulfill our Agreement obligations including utilizing the Georgia Center’s Event Management System. Create and maintain accurate business records and reports of activities, and actively participate in professional organizations and educational opportunities, as directed by the Director of Sales. Attend meetings and support departmental projects which may include solicitation of business from markets other than those for which you are directly responsible. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; will consider Associate’s degree with significant and relevant experience • Business to Business sales experience (preference given to those with hotel or conference center sales and/or meeting planning experience) • Experience in negotiation and sales preferred • Strong communication skills including both oral (in person and phone) and written, and public presentations • Possess organizational and time management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while documenting relevant communication • Ability to successfully meet the public and create a favorable impression of the Georgia Center; excellent customer service skills • Ability to work independently, with initiative, within departmental guidelines • Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic and support a positive work environment • Proficient in use of Windows Office Suite; internet research skills required • Ability to review basic financial reports, invoices, bills and statements to help determine appropriate space holds and deposit requirements • Data management experience strongly preferred Physical Demands Sit at a desk for extended period of times utilizing computer Lift items up to 40 lbs.
