Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Systems Engineering Principal Engineer on the Mission and Program Integration (MAPI) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX). MAPI provides program support related to strategic and tactical planning, engineering analysis, manifest development and hardware certification, safety and mission assurance, risk management,
information technology, payload integration, program science and research. This includes support of mission and program integration and necessary infrastructure operations functions for the International Space Station (ISS). Schedule will be irregular and hours are not guaranteed. ** The Systems Engineering Principal Engineer will: + Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Gateway Systems Engineering concepts and methods. + Provide strategic knowledge and expertise regarding Gateway Systems Engineering, specifically as it pertains to the Mission and Program Integration contract. + Perform other duties as required. Required Education/Experience/Skills: + BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and a minimum of twenty five (25) years of progressive relevant experience. + INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification. + Minimum 20+ years of Project Management including managing large program Systems Analysis & Integration teams; managing Project Analytical Engineering and Integration effort(s); analytical engineering on large platforms and development programs and process development and new program evaluation requirements. + Gateway Program experience developing system level requirements, on-orbit configuration formulation, and integrated analyses. + Systems Engineering experience in major programs, platforms, and new development programs. + Demonstrated experience conducting data analysis that involve complex technical parameters, acquisition and logistics requirements, schedule constraints, procurement and business principles and similar cost-influencing factors. + Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools. + Experience in development and presentation of training materials, technical briefings, management status reports, and high-quality charts and graphs to visually demonstrate cost analysis to senior-level personnel. + Ability to operate through influence across multiple sites and levels. + Proven ability to effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines. + Strong communication skill. + Highly motivated.
